US Cities in Spanish

The major US cities in Spanish remain largely the same as the English version, but they are often spelled or pronounced slightly differently. Los Angeles, for example, although a Spanish name is pronounced differently in English and Spanish. In English, the “g” is pronounced as a “j” sound, but in the Spanish pronunciation it is said with a throaty “h” sound.

Conquering the Spanish pronunciation of words that you are used to saying in English will really help to make you sound like you have a good mastery of Español and saying them in flamboyant Spanish fashion can be fun too.
