Countries in Spanish

This free audio lesson is all about countries in Spanish. If you want to know how to say different countries in Spanish and English then this lesson is for you!

The names of different countries around the world are, for the most part, very similar between English and Spanish. However, you will find some pronunciation and spelling variations that are important to get right if you want to sound natural when speaking Spanish.

Remember that in Spanish “i” is almost always pronounced with the short sound. Examples of this are to be found in the pronunciation of China, which uses the long “i” in English, but uses the short “i” (like in fin in English) in the Spanish pronunciation. It’s the same story with the pronunciation of Ireland in Spanish too.
