CUSTOMS & BAGGAGE CLAIM

If you are a US, UK, Canadian or Australian-passport holder visiting Korea, you don’t need a visa for short business trips and vacations. Of course, the rules state that you can’t work during your stay. You should always carry proof of identity, so make sure you always carry your passport.

So, your flight has finally arrived at Incheon Airport. When you get off your plane, follow the signs to “Customs” or Tong-gwan. There will be different lines depending on what passport you carry. Look out for these signs:

내국인

Naegook-in

Koreans returning to the country

외국인

Wegook-in

Foreigners entering the country

The customs officer may ask what the purpose of your visit is. Be sure to answer correctly!

Hyooga watsuyo.

Once you pass through customs you will have to collect your luggage. Simply follow the signs to the 짐 찾는 곳 /jim chatneun got. Porters at the airport charge a set fee.
