Japanese Hotel phrases

Make sure you pack these Japanese hotel phrases in your bag before you travel to Japan! After this free audio lesson you'll be able to ask for what you need in Japanese, find your way around a Japanese hotel, and explain any concerns you might have to the hotel staff.

Even if you’re lucky enough to find the perfect hotel, you’ll need to know a few useful Japanese words and phrases to understand the staff assisting you, so let's start with some basics...

Pronouncing Japanese hotel phrases

As hard as you try, without helpful feedback your Japanese pronunciation is never going to be the same as a native speaker’s. If you've found it difficult to perfect the way you say Japanese words and phrases, this lesson will help you.

Use the blue button to play the audio tracks associated with Japanese Hotel phrases. Then try recording yourself and compare your Japanese pronunciation with that of the native Japanese speaker. That’s right, with Rocket Japanese's voice recognition technology you can record your voice as many times as you need until your pronunciation matches the Japanese speaker!

And when you are ready test yourself using Testing (at the bottom of the page) and really power up your learning and recall.

Once you’ve checked in at a hotel, the receptionist will give you your key and tell you what room you’re in. By the way some hotels haven’t got a room number 4 or 9, because 4, “shi” literally means “death,” and 9, “ku” means “pain”.
