Pronouncing Chinese timeLet's get started...
What time is it?
Do you have the time?
And you may get as an answer…
Yes of course......
It is 8 o’clock.
It is 9 thirty.
It's quarter past ten.
It is quarter to one.
No (as in "I don't have the time"), sorry.
It is almost like in English, so you should learn your number well and the rest will come easily. Now you will learn when they ask you if you have an appointment to go to the doctor or to meet with a friend to “喝咖啡 hē kāfēi” (have coffee).
Did you make an appointment?
When do you want to have an appointment with the doctor?
When do you want to meet?
And you may want to know how to have someone repeat when your appointment is…
When do I have my appointment?
When are we meeting again?
Here's some useful Chinese vocabulary relating to time…
To be on time
To be late
That’s it for today’s lesson. I hope you had fun!
